Two Pins! Two crummy pins and it is completely my fault we lost. I am like two different people bowling these days. I bowl two good games then bowl two unspeakably bad games.
I basicly handed the total pins right to them. Can I blame the lane conditions? Well I am getting sick of doing that. I need to figure something out and figure it out fast.
My Partner Tom Dolan bowl a fantastic first game but in the tenth frame he was a bit light on the speed and the ball snap hooked through the head pin leaving him an unmakable split. He bowled a 212 but should of been in the 230s. He was bowling with his New Ball that hasn't seen the light of day due to the fact it wasn't hooking very well. I am talking about the Track The Rising. I asked him if I could take some scotch bright pads to it and resurface it.
Off the top of my head I don't remember what gritt scotch bright pad I took to it but WOW did it help for him. The ball turn from a straight skidy ball to a HOOK MONSTER. It really helped him get through the oil we had in the 1st game. The ball is hidious to look at. It also has a corny bad Bruce Springstein song name to it but it seems to do what it is told and hooks through about anything but you definately have to adjust the cover stock with some scotch bright pads.
Tom's bowling was the only highlight of my night of struggles. He really rolled the ball the best I have seen him roll it. A lot more hook then he usually rolls. It is just a matter of time when Tom's Average will surpass mine. Then at that point I will make him achor for the team.

ps Tony Colatruglio Mapped and Drilled Tom Dolan's New Track The Rising. Tony mentioned to Tom that the factory finish might not get him the results he wants so it was Tony's Idea to change the cover stock and throw a pair of snow tires on it. It doesn't sound like it's your fault...sounds like the team is just having a few ups and downs...besides, leagues are for pratice and fun :-D.
TimI use the The Rising in my league house. It still has the factory finish. It hooks pretty decent for me...a guy who don't put many revs on a ball...but sometimes, on fresh oiled lanes,(always right before league starts), about six frames into the first game, I have to start moving left or it hits high. A lot of times, if I swing it wide, it leaves a solid 10 pin. Other than that, I really like Track's "The Rising"
